The 80’s cult classic will be coming to the Other Palace on June 9th.
Fans of the hit film and musical have been clamouring to find out more about the the upcoming production of Heathers the Musical following their announcement that Carrie Hope Fletcher, known famously for her YouTube career and stage success, will be starring as the moody teenager with a taste for blood Veronica Sawyer, and now they have unveiled the full cast…
In a video uploaded to their Twitter account, Heathers played up to their highschool setting by releasing Westerberg High’s Class of 2018, showing the young star’s own high school photos.
Starring as the popular trio with a penchant for croquet and the finer things in life are Jodie Steele, T’Shan Williams and Sophie Isaacs. Steele has previously held the role of Elphaba in Wicked during their international tour, and has starred in a variety of other productions like Rent, the Tina Turner Arena Experience, Fame and Legally Blonde, whilst Williams – who trained at the Guildford School of Acting, has appeared in The Life, The Book Of Mormonand the Blues Brothers. Theatre credits for Isaacs include Grease, Kinky Boots and Hairspray.
Joining Fletcher in the murderous couple of Westerberg High will be Jamie Muscato, who will star as Jason Dean – otherwise known as JD. Muscato has appeared in a variety of film and TV, including Big Fish, Sweeney Todd, Les Mis and Bend it like Beckham. The role of Martha Dunnstock, the bullied girl of the school, will be played by Jenny O’Leary, another Les Mis alum with further appearances in Rent, Hairspray and more.
Finally, Dominic Andersen and Chris Chung will be playing the jocks with a death sentence, Ram Sweeney and Kurt Kelly, with Rebecca Lock playing the role of Mrs Fleming, the caring guidance counsellor.
