Green Day‘s American Idiot musical will celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary and the album’s 15th with a UK tour.

The hit album turned critically acclaimed musical is set to return to the UK in 2019 following two outstanding runs on the West End and a sold-out UK tour. The explosive rock musical first shook audiences in 2009 at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, eventually making it’s way to the UK for 2012 during an international tour, regaling audiences with an award winning adaption of the lyrics and sounds of American IdiotGreen Day‘s breakthrough album.

American Idiot tells the story of three childhood friends, searching for meaning in a post 9/11 world. Featuring the music of Green Day with the lyrics and book by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, this thrilling musical has enraptured both theatre and Green Day fans the world over.

Songs include the hit Boulevard of Broken Dreams, 21 Guns, and Wake Me Up When September Ends, with of course the title track of the Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum album American Idiot

It’s been an amazing experience playing Whatsername in the West End and now I get to do it all over again next year around the UK, bringing this incredible show to a wider audience who haven’t had a chance to see it in London!
